what makes a good auction

Many Customers ask us, what makes  good auction? Our response is always the same; A good Auction consists of 2 keys of a formula to equal success, The 2 keys are Quality and quantity. As with any industry or service customers want quality first, if an auction is loaded with yard sale left overs the outcome will not be very good. Likewise is an auction has mid to high end furniture, jewelry, coins, firearms, collectables etc. The outcome will usually be good. We tell prospective consignors, "if you have quality items you will get quality bids". This statement has never failed us, quality items equals quality dollars.
On the other hand, quantity is a big key to success as well. We have liquidated dollar stores that produced more money than the inventory was worth on retail because the shear volume of products and selling it in bulk was attractive to bidders. Liquidating in large Quantity will yield a good out come as buyers look for bulk to save money in the long run.
Quality and Quantity, the two keys to a successful auction.
Happy bidding
